This exhibition is a journey through a series of works that trace Clement Denis’ exploration of light, movement, and memory. It is an intimate dialogue between painting and the unseen, where each canvas leads to a single, special piece. This final painting carries the essence of Denis’project, Painting the Wind, partly varnished with a fragrance crafted in collaboration with perfumer Ugo Charron. The scent lingers, like the fleeting touch of wind, capturing what words and images cannot. The works you will see—such as the Oiseaux laissés pour trace ongoing series and larger pieces like Chroniques temporelle de Vétheuil I —are fragments of this search. They are moments where the artist to hold the ephemeral, to listen to the rhythm of nature, and to translate it into color and form. At Whitestone Gallery Ginza, Clement Denis invites you to step into this quiet exploration, where painting meets scent, and where the invisible becomes tangible. Through each stroke and each breath, perhaps you too will find a piece of the light.
