Guillermo Calzadilla (b. 1971, La Havana, Cuba).
Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla have collaborated on an extensive body of work since 1995. Through a research-based approach, their work traces intersections of history, material culture, and politics through a wide variety of mediums, namely performance, sculpture, sound, video, and photography.
Their work has been exhibited and collected widely in publicinstitutions and private collections. They are the recipients of variousprizes, including: The Scientific Merit Award and the Audience Award atthe 10th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival, New York(2017); the Gwangju Biennial Prize, Gwangju (2004); Penny McCallFoundation Grant (2003); Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant (2002) and theCintas Fellowship (2002-2001).
