Andrew Liversidge (b. 1979, Sydney) makes conceptual objects and videos. He is interested in the romantic quality of the conceptual gesture. Recurrent themes include abstraction and the collapse of finite models, the infinite and its relation to metaphysics and epistemology, limit, order, repetition and paradox. His work often involves self-portraiture.
Liversidge was awarded a Master of Fine Arts at Victorian College of the Arts, The University of Melbourne in 2010. In 2009, he was the recipient of the Athenaeum Club Visual Arts Award for the winning entry of Master of Fine Arts exhibition at Victorian College of the Arts. In 2011, he undertook an Australia Council for the Arts Skills and Development Residency at the Citè Internationale des Arts, Paris.
