A master of abstraction and deeply rooted meanings behind everything she creates, Ann Grim is a multidisciplinary artist from France who was raised between Buenos Aires, Paris, Cape Town, Montevideo and London before choosing to live and work in Paris.
Read MorePrimarily concentrates on painting, Grim's fundamental aim is to weave together threads of social, cultural and urban experiences through pieces of strong abstraction. Generous and hyper-sensitive, the artist is mainly concerned with the evolution of the human race and its geo-political context hundreds of years later. Ann exploited, first of all, the theoretical path through research, then the scientific way, by referring to multiple ancestral techniques and / or spikes for the realization of each of her works. The inherent approach in the artist's work is not to condition a reflection by exposing ideas from certain moods but rather to express, in the form of a metaphor, the limits of human nature and the impact of artificial intelligence on human.
Grim thus plunges us into a fiction anticipating different uchronies. The foundation of our references and landmarks are then questioned. In these days of hyper-globalisation. Grim makes art into a true platform for creation and expression, free from all constraints. She creates around the complexity of human nature in a provocative world that holds an instinctive aestheticism.
Grim's works was shown at the Palais de Tokyo, the Maison Rouge and the Aquarium de Paris.
