Brie Trenerry primarily works with digital media and installation to create immersive environments that reflect her preoccupation with cinematic tropes. She is currently working on a suite of videos that explore oneiric film theory and its associated imagery. In her video works, Trenerry’s characters are furtive, fugitive and trapped in hostile environments where they are subjected to recurrent physical manifestations of their anxieties.
Trenerry has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and has recently exhibited video works in curated exhibitions in Australia and internationally. Trenerry was a founding member of Kings ARI and has worked as a multimedia consultant at a wide range of institutions in Melbourne and regional galleries. Currently, she works as a freelance editor and teaches video production/post production. She has also lectured at Victoria University and RMIT. She completed a Masters of Fine Art at RMIT in 2001.
