Born in Hong Kong in 1952, Cynthia Sah grew up in Japan and Taiwan. After receiving her Master’s degree in USA, she has chosen to work in Italy where she lives since 1979. She set up a studio in Seravezza,Tuscany in 1998 and co-founded a non-profit Foundation, Arkad, to create an intercultural centre designed to promote artistic projects in 2022. Her sculptres reflect the Chinese philosophy of essential equilibrium, often translated into white marble, which takes shape as lightness and fluidity in space.Recent projects of monumental works include Nanjing Ritz Carlton, Nanjing; Ting Ho Garden Residential Building, Taipei; Swire Office Building, The Upper House, Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong; Crown Hotel, Macau. The sculpture exhibition Fusion 2 curated by Arkad Foundation will open at Asia Society Hong Kong from March 10 to June 25.Her artworks have been collected by Farum International Sculpture Park, Denmark; Azuchi-Cho Cultural Centre, Shiga Prefecture, Japan; Taipei Fine Art Museum, Taipei; Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong.
