Dickie Minyintiri (c.1915–2014), a revered Pitjantjatjara Ngangkari, cultural custodian and one of the APY Lands’ great painters, was known for intensely coloured grounds overlaid with delicate white linear patterning depicting ancestral beings such as rock wallaby, kangaroo, stone curlew and emu with subtle, compelling depth.
