Dineo Ponde (b. 2001) is a visual artist based in South Africa. They graduated with a degree in Visual Arts from Stellenbosch University in 2023, specialising in Fine Arts, and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. Ponde’s practice explores the liminality and opaqueness of things, whether through the lens of belonging, home, memory, or time. Working within an expanded field of drawing, they incorporates materials such as inks, threads, and fabrics as modes of storytelling. Their work examines the intersection of personal and private narratives within broader South African socio-political conditions.
