Fernanda’s work is more related to the emotion behind color and shape than to the mimicry of reality that we understand as ‘ours’. She has used different disciplines such as dance, corporality, meditation and yoga to get to know the depths of being and thus see them embodied in her work. Casualty and the present moment as two of the most important characters in her body of work.
Read MoreGraduated in 2014 from Bachelor in Architecture at CEDIM Monterrey, Mexico. Fernanda’s main interest resided in arts. With studies in classical drawing and painting in La Sorbonne, upon graduating she had her first solo show ‘Mar Adentro’. In 2016 after moving her studio to Mexico City she started her studies in textile arts, where she started an investigation in natural pigments. In 2017 she started her studies in ceramics to bring them upon her process. In 2018 she started producing her actual body of work, focusing in different braiding techniques, the use of recycled fabrics, and studies of color. In October 2019 she had her second solo show in Mexico City, ‘Templo’ where she included a performance piece. In November of that same year she had her first international solo show ‘As deep as I can get into this thing.’in Los Angeles. 2020 was a year of profound growth, during the Pandemic hiatus she worked in her studio in Valle de Bravo, where she produced a body of work later shown in Galería Colector in a duo show with Aldo Chaparro. In January 2023 Fernanda moved her studio and residency back to Mexico City where she is exploring a new phase in her life and work.
