INMA FEMENÍA (b. 1985, Pego, Spain)
Inma Femenía’s work reflects on the way we perceive the world, increasingly conditioned by digital media. The “Digital” is understood as a medium that not only operates as a means of transmitting images, but also as alanguage with its own syntax and grammar that irredeemably modifies the appearance of form. It is from this vantagepoint that we need to position her artistic practice, digging into the digital “terrain” and piercing below pixels and lightvibrations. Her work deploys technological devices not so much for their function as broadcasters of reality, but rather to displaythe aesthetic possibilities of the “digital print” and the independent character of software.
