Jaime Poblete
Santiago de Chile, 1981. Lives and works in Erba.
His academic training started with Scenography and Art Theory, attending the Facultad de Artes, Universidad de Chile. During this time, he worked as a set designer for several theatre companies.The origins of his artistic career date back to his collaboration with the Chilean artist Francisco González. From 2002 to 2007 he worked as a restorer at the MAC Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago de Chile. From 2008 to 2010 he lived and worked in Valencia, Spain, where he attended the Academia de San Carlos, Universidad Politecnica de Valencia.
He has been living in Italy since 2011, where he consolidates his language, deepening his research on colour and its relationship with space, matter and identity, alternating with his interest in semiotics and philosophy. He held his first significant solo exhibition, Elipsis, at the IK-projects gallery in Lima on 2017. In 2020, the Suburbia Contemporary gallery in Barcelona dedicated its stand at Artefiera Bologna to his work. His most recent solo shows include Nigredo at Suburbia Contemporary in 2019, Pliegue at the G/ART/EN gallery in Como in 2020 and the project Edén presented at the artist Aldo Chaparro’s studio in Mexico City in 2022. Among the group shows are Rosa alchemico, a project of the Miniartextil Foundation at Villa Olmo, Como in 2022; Trame, Valenti - Collina - Poblete at Folini Arte in Lugano, Montagne Sacre at galleria ARTRA and Gucci Art Program #2 Milan Montenapoleone in 2023.
