JONO TOH
After a career as a fashion designer between New York, Hong Kong and Sydney, Jono Toh turned to painting. At the heart of Toh’s practice lies a personal process of deconstructing emotions, memories and experiences that connect the conscious and the unconscious. Through bold visual forms, Toh distills moments of introspection, representing the complexity of his inner reflection. In Thinking Out Loud, Toh transforms the silent terrain of introspection into tangible forms, where each work emerges from a dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious.
“These visual expressions navigate the uncertainties of his lived experience with clarity and optimism, inviting viewers to enter a space where thought becomes visible, and where, even in uncertainty, light persists,” explains Toh.
This exhibition holds particular significance given the rapid growth of Jono Toh’s recognition. In 2022, Toh exhibited in a small group show at A2Z Gallery with only five works. Today, he occupies the entire gallery for a solo exhibition. In recent years, Toh has attracted the attention of several collectors and has notably been acquired by Louis Vuitton Paris for a future boutique concept. Previously, Toh presented solo exhibitions in Hong Kong (You Tell Me in 2023) and in Istanbul (Once upon that time in 2024).
