Jota, 22-year-old young man, born in Honório Gurgel and raised at Complexos de Favelas do Chapadão, in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. In the past three years many changes came into place. The fast acknowledgement of his art has led the painter to unexpected destinations: from the walls of Masp, the important Brazilian museum, to the much farther Amsterdam – where he showed his first international exhibition – on display still in the exhibition “Dos Brasis”, vast inventory of the visual production by Brazilian black artists in the last centuries, touring the country.
