JUDITH EGGER
At the centre of my work is the examination of the underlying life force that causes anarchic growth, change and decay. In doing so, I question the dictate of the controllability and usability of all resources of our western, science-driven world - on a physical as well as on a metaphysical level. Here, (almost) any means will do: my work ranges from installation and performance to objects and drawings. Humour often plays an important role in luring viewers into engagement.
I enjoy working with other people, be it in artistic collaborations in theatre, music and performance or in larger contexts such as the networking project “open here - community, art and diversity in a common Europe”, which was carried out in 2007 together with the Munich Cultural Department and involved a truck converted into a performance stage touring Vienna, Prague, Liverpool, Arles and Marseille. In 2016 I was invited to participate in the Munich Biennale for New Music Theatre with the performance and installation project “Hundun” (in collaboration with the composer Neele Hülcker). In 2017 I was able to realise the project “Ursprung/Origins-an experimental approach to the self-organisation of matter and the emergence of first life on earth” in dialogue with the biophysicist Prof. Dieter Braun at whiteBox Munich.
In 2018 I was invited to present the results of this experience at the TEDxTUM Salon “Tiny Superpowers” at the Deutsches Museum.
