Kevin Klamminger (b. 1990) lives and works in Vienna, Austria, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Gunther Damisch and Christian Schwarzwald.
His work lays bare the process of painting, visualising the many contradictions and questions that mutate between figurative motifs and abstract concepts. Playing with light and colour, the artist is often directed by the composition of his previous painting towards ideas or forms he feels compelled to explore further, often without concrete evidence as to why it feels necessary.
Klamminger has presented a solo exhibition at Elektrohalle Rhomberg, Salzburg, and has featured in many international group exhibitions, including across Austria, Eastern Europe and China. Promethean Approach at Unit will be his debut UK solo exhibition.
