Laura Carthew is a Melbourne-based emerging artist. In 2011 she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine arts from Monash University. Her practice engages with memorialisation, ritual and notions of the archive through artist books, photography, video and installation. The work I create generates dialogues between culturally accepted notions of commemoration, ritualised activity and the duality of remembering and forgetting.
