Leo Park is a Swedish artist who graduated from Konstfack College of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm. The artist works with a number of international galleries, and his work has been shown in the United States (New York), in Europe (London, Stockholm, Cologne) and in Asia (Shanghai, Taipei).Patterns and diverse stylistic influences from the history of traditional art are at the heart of his work. His style blends these classical pictorial inspirations with pop cultural references to create a contemporary aesthetic. A great admirer of the old masters, Park is a great admirer of the old and modern masters, and he is particularly fascinated by the work of Pablo Picasso. He continually reinterprets his fundamental ideas, both thematic and pictorial. Bather with Phone (2023), presented as part of our exhibition, is a direct quotation from the painting Femme assise sur la plage, painted by the master in 1937.
