Lucy Skaer’s multimedia practice is equal parts materialand conceptual, drawing from a background of sociallyengaged and Environmental Art. Skaer works in sculpture,film, and printmaking, and exhibits artworks of various mediaalongside each other in complex installations. Often engagingcollaboratively with her contemporaries or in concert withher predecessors, she examines the history of objects, events,and historical works of art, and how their meanings changeover time.

Lucy Skaer graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1997.In 2009, Skaer was a Turner Prize finalist, and in 2007 sherepresented Scotland at the 52nd Venice Biennale. She was a2023 resident at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, TX (US) andwas previously awarded residencies at the Hammer Museum,Los Angeles, CA (US) in 2016 and at the Emily Carr Universityof Art and Design in Vancouver (CA) in 2015.
