Born in 1968, Man is a well-known figure in Hong Kong’s contemporary art scene, specializing in sculpture and ink installation. Her famous “Cheongsam” sculpture series was previously exhibited at Louis Vuitton in Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore between 2013 and 2014. Man, a graduate of the Department of Fine Arts at Chinese University of Hong Kong established Artists’ House with Mok Yat-san in 1995. In 1999, she obtained her MA in Fine Arts at CUHK and then worked there as a part-time lecturer until 2001. In 2008, she obtained her MA in Taoism from Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in United States, France, Spain, China and Hong Kong as well as solo exhibitions in Redtory, Guangzhou, 2015; Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2014; and Espace LV Taipei, Taiwan, 2014.
She was awarded Hong Kong Women of Excellence in the Six Arts Award, 2013; Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition Award, 2003; Critic Award of “Century • Women Art Exhibition”, Beijing, China, 1998; and Freeman Foundation Fellowship for Asian Artists, United States, 1997. Her works are collected by M+ Museum for Visual Culture, Hong Kong; Hong Kong Museum of Art; Hong Kong Heritage Museum; Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum; Redtory Contemporary Museum of Art, Guangzhou; Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art, Japan; Art Promotion Office, Hong Kong Legislative Council; Hong Kong MTR Corporation; Hong Kong Tamar Park; K11 Art Foundation; Upper House, Hong Kong; Louis Vuitton Malletier, France and L’ Avenue, Shanghai. Alisan Fine Arts has been exhibiting Man’s work since 2007.
