Philipp Goldbach (b. 1978, Cologne) studied Art with a focus on photography at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In 2016 he received his PhD in Art History from the University of Cologne. Among others, he received the Vordemberge-Gildewart Scholarship (2009) and the Ars Viva Prize (2011-2012). Goldbach lectured Film and Photographic Studies at the ‚Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society’ at Leiden University (2017-2019). He is also a member of the artist group darktaxa-project. His works are part of the collections of DZ Bank, Museum Folkwang, Hessisches Landesmuseum Wiesbaden, Mudam Luxembourg and Centre Pompidou, Paris.
