Lee Se-jun recognizes the world as a complex and variable organic state in which disparate things coexist or contradict. To transform his perception of the world into shape and structure via the medium of drawing, he connects serveral paintings and enlarges them to a size that cannot be seen at a glance. Also, he creates conflicting scenes by using the contrast of various formative elements such as brightness, saturation, and brushstroke size.
Born in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do.(South Korea) He graduated from Hongik University Department of Painting (BFA), Graduated from Hongik University Graduate School (MFA) and got the grant from SeMA Young Artist Support Program (2012), Gallery AG Artist Contest (2013), Seoul Foundation for Arts Support (2016), and KSD Art Awards (Grand Prize) (2020).
He held solo exhibitions at Kimi Art Gallery, Space Willing and Dealing, Cake Gallery, and KSD Gallery. He participated in the exhibition at the invitation of various institutions such as Seoul Museum of Art, Beijing Commune (China), Hite Collection, Baoan Inn, Sejong Cultural Center, Mimesis Museum, and Zaha Museum. He has participated in various residency programs, including 777 Residency (2012-2016), Beijing B-Space (2016, sponsored by the Baeksan Cultural Foundation), Buk-gu Art Creation Center (2019), and Nanji Art Studio (2020).
