Shao Wenhuan Biography



ShaoWenhuan (b. 1971) was born in Hotan, Xinjiang Province Shao and studied at the China Academy of Art, where he earned a degree in Mixed Media and Painting in 2004 and a Master of Fine Arts in Mixed Media in 2010. In addition, Shao studied at the École National des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, France, from 2003 to 2004. He is currently a professor at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. Shao has exhibited widely in China and abroad, including recent exhibitions at the Mingyuan Museum, Shanghai; the Folkwang Museum, Essen, Germany; Hangzhou Fine Arts Academy Museum, Hangzhou; Beijing Photography Biennial, Beijing; the First Biennial of Contemporary Art in Italy (2012), the Wuhan Art Museum, Wuhan; the Lucerne Art Museum, Lucerne, Switzerland, among others. His works are part of many private and public collections around the world, including the Uli Sigg collection.
