Vanja Bučan (1973) is a Slovenian freelance photographer, who lives and works in Berlin, Germany. After her formative years, graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague, she developed an own artistic style, focusing on the representation and relationship between humans and nature. Her distinct photographic approach has won her several international awards and nominations. Her major exhibitions include Kunsthaus Wien (Au), Lentos Kunstmuseum (Au), Benaki Museum (Gr), Lishui Museum Of Art (Cn), Cafe Art Museum Beijing (Ch), Museum of Modern Art Banja Luka (BiH), festivals such as Circulation(s) Paris, Biel photo festival (Cn), Athens Photo Festival (Gr), Solar Photo festival (Br), Month of Photography Los Angeles (USA), Leica Gallery Wetzlar (De), Getty Images Gallery London (UK), Poznan Photo Biennial (Pl), Photon Gallery (Si) and major European art fairs.
