WHISKEY TJUKANGKU
1939-2015, AustraliaWhiskey Tjukangku (c. 1939 – 2015) was born in the bush in Yankunytjatjara Country and grew up between Ernabella Mission and De Rose Hill cattle station. After years working as a stockman and drover, he returned closer to his homeland and became a respected leader and ngangkari at Indulkana. Tjukangku was among the first men to paint at Iwantja Arts and one of the art centre’s pioneering artists.
