Born in Chengdu in 1972, Wu Xiaohang graduated from the Fine Arts Department at Chengdu Normal University in 1995 and University of Kassel in 2004. She currently lives and works in Shanghai.
Wu Xiaohang’s underwater world is a window to her paradise. Azure and translucent as the sky, spotless and noiseless, it transports her from worldly worries. The ancients could dream about their magic mountains, but today that dream has been polluted by the industry of man, and Wu Xiaohang has to dive underwater to find another pristine realm of the mind.
