Zak Smith lives and works in Los Angeles. After graduating from Yale University with an MFA, he has been presented in high-profile group shows around the US and London, with his work included in public collections including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Saatchi Gallery, London; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, where his work was included in the 2004 Whitney Biennial.
His works focus on his experience working in his alternate employment as an adult actor, where women that cross paths with him are usually the theme of his works that bring out deeper meanings and questions related to erotic feelings and pleasure.
