Press Release

A new commission by multi-disciplinary artist, musician, DJ, and graphic designer, Tanat Teeradakorn. Fusing together fragments of biography, memory, data and historical narratives, his work interrogates the ways in which cultural narrative constructs, circulates and replicates across media, culture and space.

For his first solo exhibition in Europe, Tanat will draw comparisons between Thailand and the UK, seeking out interrelated connections in pop culture, revolution, and the monarchy. Through installation and sound he will forge links between the stories and symbolism they share, and the iconography that constitutes forms of soft power.

Gasworks’ Exhibitions programme is supported by Catherine Petitgas and Gasworks Exhibitions Supporters.

About the Gallery

Established in 1994, Gasworks is a non-profit contemporary visual art organisation working at the intersection between UK and international practices and debates. We provide studios for London-based artists; commission emerging UK-based and international artists to present their first major exhibitions in the UK; and develop a highly-respected international residencies programme, which offers rare opportunities for international artists to research and develop new work in London. All programmes are accompanied by events and participatory workshops that engage audiences directly with artists and their work.
