Takashi Murakami: Michel Majerus Superflat continues at the Michel Majerus Estate in Berlin until 26 February 2022.

The show includes recent works made by Takashi Murakami in response to those by Michel Majerus (1967–2002)—an artist revered for paintings that fused Pop and Minimalism, often incorporating texts from everyday life.

Although originating from different continents, the exhibition text notes how both artists were ‘filtering global pop culture in a distinctly distanced way... This distance breeding a love-hate relationship with the superficial proposal of pure Pop.’
