In this new series of ten paintings on linen, Ichise captures fragments of everyday life, small moments that, together, make up life itself. Conceived as a visual anthology, each composition functions like a short film or a haiku, reflecting on fleeting impressions and quiet emotions. For her, painting is not mere representation but a sensory translation, an attempt to capture the sights, textures, and emotions of lived experience.

About the Artist

Miho Ichise captures the essence of her surroundings by photographing everyday scenes and transforming these images into drawings before completing her compositions on canvas. Instead of directly painting what shesees, Ichise utilizes photography to grant her the freedom to construct her ownworld, extracting elements from images, altering colors, and incorporating additional features. For her, painting transcends mere replication; it serves as a sensory and atmospheric interpretation, striving to encapsulate the sights, sounds, textures, scents, and emotions of her environment.
