Painting is a deeply intimate act, revealing the way one sees the world. In this selection of works, self-representation emerges as a central thread, whether through portraiture or more subtle allusions to the self.
Set within domestic interiors, outdoor landscapes or imaginary spaces, the figures interact with their surroundings, which become projections of their inner emotional states. Environments develop into extensions of the subject’s emotional landscape, taking on a life of their own. The boundary between the external and inner world dissolves, creating a confusion between reality and the way it is perceived.
Themes of perception, identity and collective memory emerge, revealing how deeply personal experiences can give rise to fragmented visions of universal truths. Through the expressive use of color and form, the backdrops of ordinary scenes become reflections of inner life, where intimacy is both revealed and withheld, inviting the viewer into a space of quiet recognition and reflection.
With works by Amit Berman, Carlo D’Anselmi, Alina Frieske, Marie-Laure Rampa, Tang Shuo, Adriel Visoto and Romane de Watteville.
