For her fourth exhibition with Galerie Buchholz Silke Otto-Knapp (* 1970, lives and works in Los Angeles) shows new paintings and collages. In her works for this exhibition, Otto-Knapp revisits the iconic choreography of Bronislawa Nijinskas for Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Les Noces, which premiered in 1923, and the production animal/vegetable/mineral by the Michael Clark Company, 2012–2013.

In the Waiting Room, a solo exhibition by Silke Otto-Knapp, will be on view at The Renaissance Society, Chicago, through 29 March. In addition, works by Silke Otto-Knapp are currently on view in the new collection presentations at the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Tate Modern, London. Silke Otto-Knapp will participate in a Michael Clark exhibition at the Barbican Art Gallery in London this June. Silke Otto-Knapp is Professor of Painting at UCLA, Los Angeles.

About the Artist

Silke Otto-Knapp was born in Osnabrück, Germany, and lived in Los Angeles, where she served as professor of painting and drawing at the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture. She earned an MA from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, in 1996, and a Degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Hildesheim, Germany, in 1997.
