EVGENY CHUBAROV

Evgeny Chubarov (1934 – 2012) is a painter, sculptor and graphic artist, who translated his emotions, moods and intellectual insights to a visual language in aunique way never seen before. Chubarov’s paintings are characterized by their great looseness in composition. They seeminitially indecipherable, as they follow the so-called All-Overprinciple. This method eliminates any emphasis on the center and afforded the artist the opportunity to move freely across the large canvasses. The accentuation on the lines is striking in this art.

His works contain numerous layers of linear ornaments, wherein micro and macro structures come to permeate each other during the process of painting. The results are magnificent paintings that create a totality of imagery that invites us to partake in the notion of the sublime.
