Académie Conti, a collaborative project between the Consortium Museum and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, presents Argentinian artist Àngela Ferrari’s first institutional exhibition in Europe, The Wild Ones. Curated by Franck Gautherot and Seungduk Kim of the Consortium Museum, the exhibition is on view as part of the museum’s major “L’Almanach 26” biennale.
In the bucolic setting of the Académie Conti, the paintings Àngela has produced for the exhibition create a pictorial passageway—the two long walls of the main gallery are host to compositions in which perspectives are disrupted and scale tossed to the wind for a bestiary and lush flora, along both ten- meter-long spaces. A thematic and spatial dialogue between the two wings of the Académie Conti unfolds on either side of the main space in the huge paintings—full-blown pieces of pictorial bravura—augmented by a considerable number of small format works with details of horse heads, birds with sharp beaks, and coiled flowers.
Through her compositions, in which animal bodies are in a state of tension — dogs baring their teeth, horses rearing up — the artist conjures a segment of European art history. Her canvases evoke artworks depicting exploits and armed feats as well as idyllic and mysterious wildlife scenes, echoing in particular the paintings of Douanier Rousseau.
Here, the artist appropriates the codes of Western iconography — in which animal and human realms have long been kept apart — upending them in order to examine the relationship between nature and culture.

Founded in late 2020 by art world veterans Vanessa Guo and Jean-Mathieu Martini, Marguo is a Paris-based contemporary art gallery nestled in the Marais, dedicated to championing emerging and early-career artists from around the globe. Drawing inspiration from the founders’ rich cultural heritages and global perspectives, Marguo bridges Eastern and Western artistic sensibilities, amplifying voices often sidelined by mainstream institutions. Embracing a spirit of hybridity, Marguo weaves together local, international, and digital narratives, reflecting an unwavering conviction that art and life are intricately entwined. At its heart lies a dynamic exhibition program—strengthened by participation in major art fairs and bold off-site initiatives—that propels its mission forward. This vision is enriched by complementary endeavors: Casa Marguo, an artist residency and salon set within a historic townhouse on the Balearic island of Menorca; Marguo Books, a platform for editorial projects; and Bar Saka, an artisanal mixology bar adjacent to the gallery in the Marais (launched in 2024), reimagining the fusion of art and hospitality.
