P21 Gallery returns to Frieze Seoul with a curated selection of artists, offering a representative overview of the vibrant contemporary art scene in South Korea. Building on the successful 2022 presentation of Sungsil Ryu that explored the intersection of tradition and neoliberalism, P21 broadens its scope this year. The focus shifts towards a diverse group of artists whose practices delve into critical themes encompassing identity, gender, politics, and environmental concerns. Through their thought-provoking works, they have each gained prominence in both their given localities and internationally. Their voices carry significance amidst South Korea and East Asia's ongoing social transformation, which has been a defining characteristic of the region for the past century.
