P21 and Croy Nielsen are pleased to present Birke Gorm’s first solo exhibition in Korea, on view from September 1 to October 10, 2026. The exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter Gorm’s work in Seoul ahead of the Gwangju Biennale, where she will be presenting the evening and the morning and the night in the Austrian Pavilion at the 16th Gwangju Biennale.

Birke Gorm (b. 1986) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Fine Arts Hamburg, and is based in Vienna, Austria. Through processes of collecting, reusing, and transforming, she reveals traces of labour, gender, and systems of value embedded in materials, allowing the time and memory accumulated in objects to be reconfigured through sculpture and installation. She has presented solo exhibitions at the Austrian Pavilion at the 16th Gwangju Biennale(forthcoming, 2026); O—Overgaden, Copenhagen(2025); and Croy Nielsen, Vienna(2023, 2020, 2017), among others. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions including those at Museum Liaunig, Neuhaus(2026); Dom Museum, Vienna(2025). Her works are held in major institutional collections including SMK – National Gallery of Denmark, mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien and MAK – Museum of Applied Arts.

About the Gallery

P21 was established in 2017 by Soo Choi. Located in Itaewon district, a cultural hub in Seoul, the gallery opened with an inaugural exhibition by Choi Jeong Hwa and continues to promote compelling and original examples of international contemporary art. P21 is known for its unique exhibition space with two separate facades, respectively named P1 and P2, that enable artists to create site-specific works.
