Gallery Rosenfeld is thrilled to announce its participation in The Armory Show 2024, presenting a dynamic booth featuring new works by four extraordinary international artists: Ndidi Emefiele (Nigeria), Ruozhe Xue (China), Teodora Axente (Romania), and Enrique Brinkmann (Spain). These artists, each with a distinctive voice and practice, come together to offer a rich tapestry of global contemporary art that speaks to the gallery’s dedication to supporting a wide array of cultural narratives and artistic explorations.
Ndidi Emefiele, a celebrated Nigerian artist, brings to the fore her unique fusion of painting and collage, often incorporating unconventional materials such as beads, fabric, and paper to create textured, multi-dimensional works. Emefiele’s art is a vibrant commentary on gender, identity, and cultural dynamics, challenging societal norms while celebrating individuality and self-expression.
Ruozhe Xue is presenting a serene diptych titled Double Lift Up, encapsulating his incredible ability to straddle the thin line between realism and dreamlike surreal imagery. Xue, whose second solo exhibition at Gallery Rosenfeld is highly anticipated, has gained global recognition for his meticulously crafted canvases that blur the boundaries between the tangible and the ethereal, often evoking a sense of quiet introspection and meditative calm.
Teodora Axente from Romania contributes her thought-provoking works that delve into the psychological depths of human experience. Axente’s paintings are characterised by their hauntingly beautiful compositions, where figures often seem to emerge from or dissolve into their surroundings, creating a powerful narrative on identity, memory, and the passage of time. Taking inspiration from Dutch Old Masters, yet reworking them in a uniquely surreal tone, her works resonate with a profound sense of emotional and existential inquiry.
Enrique Brinkmann, a distinguished Spanish artist, brings his intricate and abstract works to the booth, demonstrating his mastery over texture and form. Brinkmann’s practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of materiality, where he manipulates surfaces and textures to create compositions that are both visually striking and conceptually complex. These works presented, made during the artist’s 85th year, invite viewers to explore the boundaries between chaos and order, abstraction and representation.
Gallery Rosenfeld’s booth at The Armory Show 2024 promises to be a celebration of contemporary art’s diversity and its power to connect audiences with universal themes through distinct, personal perspectives. The booth offers a unique opportunity to experience the latest works from these internationally acclaimed artists, each of whom brings their cultural heritage and innovative vision to the forefront of the global art scene.
