Here Reynolds jettisons his signature plays with slogans and broken English for a ‘double vision’ effect within a repeated diptych form. There’s an implied wonky clock face, a flickering vanishing point, and collapsing phantom clock hands amid a watery skyscape. The mirroring within each diptych panel implacably attempts to link the personal and the global, in a singsong of bitter metaphysics.
