Ames Yavuz is proud to announce Wall Works 2026, Kathy Temin’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.
The exhibition will include her most ambitious wall work to date—spanning over seven metres—alongside a new body of intricately woven synthetic fur works, bringing the playful warmth of her signature material to the rigour and repetition of minimalism.
Can Yavuz, Founding Director of Ames Yavuz says:
“For over thirty years, Kathy Temin has forged a visceral visual language of memory, history and profound loss. It is an honour and a milestone for Ames Yavuz to represent her, embodying our core purpose to champion artistic voices fostering dialogue across international audiences.”
One of Australia’s most respected contemporary artists, Temin is well-known for her distinctive use of faux fur to create monumental sculptures that explore memory, history and loss. The artist’s signature choice of medium subverts the monumental scale of her sculptures to draw allusions to softness, childhood and play.
Melbourne-based artist Kathy Temin is best known for her indoor monuments made out of synthetic fur. By toying with the dichotomies of kitsch and formalism, solemnity and playfulness, Temin engages with personal and universal experiences of memory, history, and loss.

Ames Yavuz embraces its diverse cultural background through a strong international focus and perspective. The gallery’s vision is underpinned by robust curatorial practices that form the core of our program and foster intercultural discourse on a global scale.
