ALEXANDRA DUPREZ
b. 1974, FranceIn her drawings, inspired by dreams and myths, Alexandra Duprez creates a world between abstraction and figuration. In her work, she attempts to disengage from external influences, and to give voice just to her inner thoughts and feelings. Her approach leads to an intimacy between the supports of the drawings—paper or book covers—and the artist drawing with pencil or crayons, which is similar to writing a diary. Alexandra Duprez works exclusively on paper.
Alexandra Duprez was born in 1974 in Douarnenez, Brittany, where she lives and works. From 1992 to 1995, she studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Quimper. She has had solo shows of her work in Paris, Marseille, Brussels, Geneva, Montreal, Bergen, Holland, and Aalborg in Denmark. She has also participated in group exhibitions in New York and London. The exhibition at Galerie Albrecht is her first show in Germany.
