CECIL KELLY
The summary treatment of forms in Cecil Kelly’s landscape paintings typified regionalism in Canterbury, New Zealand in the 1930s and influenced an aspiring generation of modernists such as the Christchurch artist William Sutton.
Kelly studied and later taught at Canterbury College School of Art (1907). His work is held in the collection of the Christchurch Art Gallery.
