LUDOVICO OROMBELLI
Ludovico Orombelli (1996) is an Italian artist based in Lausanne. His recent research focuses on Renaissance painting techniques, in which he identifies the fundamental architecture of a poetic emancipation. Using perspective, sinopias and frescoes he traces the codes of ancient paintings that lend themselves to an open re-imagination of the past.
Orombelli is completing a master’s degree at The École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL), Switzerland. He takes part to artist residencies at Dolomiti Contemporanee, Borca di Cadore, Italy and VIR Viafarini-in-residence, Milan, Italy.
Recent solo and collective exhibitions include Space Invasion III, Fabienne Levy Gallery, Lausanne (2024); Al di qua, Provinciale 11, Centro Artistico Alik Cavaliere, Milan (2023); Entre-Acte, Renata Fabbri Contemporary Art, Milan (2021) and Italian Twist, Gallerie delle Prigioni, Treviso (2021).
Orombelli was invited to art talks such as Fuoco Incrociato #1 Stefano Arienti- Ludovico Orombelli a cura di Giulio Verago, Viafarini, Milan and Painting Now, la pittura emergente in Italia a cura di Carlo Sala, Fondazione Imago Mundi, Treviso, Italy.
