Lee has organized and exhibited work at numerous venues domestically and internationally. The artist participated in the 2014 Hammer Museum biennial, Made in L.A. and the 2013 Biennale de Lyon. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include You Can Teach an Old Zebra New Tricks at Hannah Hoffman Gallery, Los Angeles, Reading into Things at Team Bungalow, Los Angeles, Sometimes Maybe at Green Gallery in Oak Park, Chicago, closer to wrong than right/ closer to right than wrong at Jack Hanley Gallery, Für die Kinder Düsseldorfs with Emily Sundblad at Off Vendôme, Dusseldorf and MLMH: Margaret Lee/Matthew Higgs at Murray Guy, New York. This year Lee partcipated in All Watched Over curated by Tina Kukielski at James Cohan Gallery, New York, Tableaux at Kai Matsumiya Gallery, New York and Kitchen Show, Pot au Fou curated by Amy Yao at Troedsson Villa, Nikko, Japan.
Recently, Lee also participated in Eagles II at Marlborough, Madrid, Food for Thought at Hewitt Gallery of Art, New York, Artadia’s 15th Anniversary curated by Gianni Jetzer at Longhouse Projects, New York, DISPLAYED curated by Matthew Higgs at Anton Kern, New York, Home Again, Again II at Journal Gallery, Brooklyn and New Pictures of Common Objects curated by Christopher Lew at MoMA PS1, New York. In 2009, Lee founded the artist-run space 179 Canal and is currently a partner in the gallery 47 Canal.
