Mikala Dwyer Biography

Mikala Dwyer completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Sculpture/Sound) at Sydney College of the Arts in 1983, studied at Middlesex Polytechnic in London, UK, in 1986, and completed a Master of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, in 1993.

Recent solo exhibitions include Square Cloud Compound, Hamish Morrison Galerie, Berlin, 2010; Monoclinic, Hamish McKay Gallery, 2008, Swamp Geometry, Anna Schwartz Gallery, Melbourne, 2008; Black Sun Blue Moon, Spielhaus Morrison Galerie, Berlin, Germany, 2007; The Additions and Subtractions and the Hanging Garden, Galerie Wascherie, Potsdam, Germany, 2007; The Shape of the Thought's Own Making, Peleton Gallery, Sydney, 2007; I Maybe We, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington, NZ, 2005; and Mikala Dwyer, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2000.

Amongst numerous group exhibitions Mikala was recently included in the 17th Biennale of Sydney, 2010.
