b. 1956, JapanO Jun is a Japanese artist who was born in 1956 in Tokyo. He predominantly works in the painting medium, using oils, Japanese pigments, or gouache to depict landscape scenes or familiar objects from the real world. His paintings appear to have a child-like innocent quality as objects are reduced to simple lines and painted in bright, vivid cololur on a stark white background. He also makes reference to his Japanese heritage in works that reflect on the natural landscape of Japan, and through his incorporation of Japanese pigments.
