Park has been the subject of many solo exhibitions including Atelier Hermes (2012/2008), the Gwangju Biennale (2006), and Ssamzie Art Space (2005). His work has also been included in major international venues such as Artsonje Center, Seoul (2013), National Art School Gallery, Sydney (2011), RedCat Gallery in Los Angeles (2010), Kunstverein in Frankfurt (2005), and De Appel in Amsterdam (2003) amongst many others. His contributions to Korea’s dynamic art scene also expand to his roles as a critic, a teacher, an organizer, and most recently, a curator. After graduating from Seoul National University with a BFA in painting, Park wrote criticism on important artists like Min Jeongki, Choi Minhwa, and Choi Jeonghwa. After studying photography, film, and critical theory at the California Institute of the Arts, Park cofounded Forum A, a monthly magazine that provided a much-needed discursive platform for South Korean art practitioners. A founding member of Pool, one of Seoul’s most important artist run spaces, Park also served as the Artistic Director of Seoul Media City in 2014.
