Peter Mathis (born in 1961) initially made a name for himself as a sports photographer, and in the fields of mountain sports and skiing, he is considered a master. In 2007, he was awarded the title Hasselblad Master, and in 2008, the award Master of European Photography followed. He has published about 20 books, including Visual Dualism – Dolomiten and Alpen, Schnee, Berge, published by Prestel Verlag. He takes digital photographs and creates Fine Art Pigment Prints. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections, including Sammlung Trumpf (DE), Sammlung Swiss Re (CH), Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Gera (DE), Landesmuseum Vorarlberg (AT), Haus d. Fotografie, Robert Gerlich Museum, Burghausen (DE) and Lumen Museum of Mountain Photography, Bruneck (IT). Peter Mathis lives and works in Hohenems, Austria.
