David Zwirner is pleased to announce an exhibition of new and historical prints from the workshop and publisher BORCH Editions, held at the gallery’s London location. The presentation will highlight the history and production of the Copenhagen-based intaglio studio, from its modest beginnings as an experimental workshop to its present-day collaborations with leading international contemporary artists such as Mamma Andersson, Georg Baselitz, Huma Bhabha, Tacita Dean, Andreas Eriksson, Nick Goss, Martin Kippenberger, Per Kirkeby, Julie Mehretu, Albert Oehlen, Frida Orupabo, Al Taylor, and Rosemarie Trockel.

Founded in 1979 by Niels Borch Jensen, BORCH Editions has established prominence in the field through its forward-thinking direction. Borch Jensen saw an opportunity to bring to Europe an exploratory approach to printmaking that stemmed from the medium’s postwar revival in the United States, with the inception of studios such as Universal Limited Art Editions in 1957 and Crown Point Press and Gemini G.E.L. in 1962. Borch Jensen’s ambitious collaborations have often yielded monumental and technically demanding etchings, and his rigorous curiosity inspires novel solutions to the challenges presented by each project. The exhibition at David Zwirner London will celebrate Borch Jensen’s ingenuity while placing artistic relationships at its center.

About the Gallery
Since opening its doors in 1993, David Zwirner has been home to innovative, singular, and pioneering exhibitions across a variety of media and genres. The gallery has helped foster the careers of some of the most influential artists working today, and has maintained long-term representation of a wide-ranging, international group of artists and estates. Based in New York with spaces in Chelsea and the Upper East Side, David Zwirner expanded to Europe in 2012 with a gallery in an eighteenth-century Georgian townhouse in London’s Mayfair district, and opened its first gallery in Asia in January 2018 in Central Hong Kong.
