Rho Eunjoo reaches the medium of painting after passing through the stages of drawing, modeling and photography. Rho pays attention to thetransfer of senses generated as the properties of the medium andmaterial change. When modeling an object, the artist uses a materialthat can be easily touched with hands and flexibly transformed. For theartist, objects and spaces are not objects to be specificallyreproduced, but are a medium that newly recognizes visualcharacteristics and evokes thought and attitudes in abstract terms inthe process of recognizing them as a plane surface. As a result, thestate of perception that flows and changes is recorded as a medium ofpainting. She deals with the idea of shape and space through multiplesensory decussation and finds the principles of composition andcomposition. Rho’s work seems to remain a subject of contemplation andbegin at the moment of the gaze, it’s also tactile and marks the indexbeyond the surface.
