Prior to graduating from the University of Auckland School of Fine Arts (Elam) New Zealand, (2001), Yvonne Todd trained as a commercial photographer.
Her photographs appropriate the style of formal portraiture, with Todd scrutinising her subjects in images described as ‘erotic, nostalgic and deeply effecting.‘
Todd was the winner of the Walters Prize (2002) and has work in the collection of the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa; The Chartwell Collection, and the Auckland City Art Gallery, Auckland, New Zealand.
