CURES: CHRONIC PROMISES opens a series of exhibitions deliberating on the power of artistic transitions. It explores the work of art and artists that emerged from practices of collectivity, endorsing alternative world-making celebrated in global contemporary art.

The exhibition challenges the conventional notion of illness-progression timelines and imagines decolonization beyond the remit of cure. Artists in collectives, institutions, and movements offer utopic proposals for decolonization, renewing various forms of avant-gardism in their presentation with contemporary non-object based art. The exhibition looks at Germany’s colonial histories and ongoing presences, examining different mediums of artistic transmissions and diverse epistemes.
